Sarah Cole Managing Director
Following a successful ten year career as a commercial property solicitor in the City of London with law firms CMS Cameron McKenna and Nabarro LLP, Sarah joined Universal in 2002. Sarah’s legal training was used to full advantage as she held the position of Legal & Quality Manager for ten years, before becoming a Director in 2012, and being appointed Managing Director of Universal and its group company, Information Storage Solutions in 2014.
Sarah takes a particular interest in quality assurance, innovation and best practice, and is actively engaged in the wider FM and Workplace community through her work as a Counsellor and Past Chair of the Commercial Moving Group (“CMG”), the commercial moving arm of the British Association of Removers. Sarah takes a proactive role in overseeing the performance of the Universal Group in the key areas of customer service, staff training and development and relationship management with both our clients and our supply chain.

Nigel Smith Operations Manager
Having joined Universal as a removals operative, Nigel has now worked in the relocation industry with Universal for over 40 years. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the relocation field and during his time at Universal has held a number of roles from relocation porter, driver, supervisor, moves manager and senior estimator and is currently Universal’s Operations Manager.
He has managed moves of all shapes and sizes from small churn moves to 2000+ people moves. Projects include major building restacks and relocations for many of Universal’s clients, including:
– Sony – The complete relocation of Sony Music Headquarters from Putney to High Street Kensington together with the redistribution or recycling of items including CDs and unwanted electrical equipment to charity.
– Linklaters LLP – The internal relocation of over 900 staff and senior lawyers and Linklaters law library. Packing and unpacking of all personal items, desks and pedestals.
– Mizuho Corporate Bank – The relocation of the bank’s headquarters from Finsbury Circus to Bracken House, including the disconnection & re-connection of all IT equipment, servers and the dealer floors and telecoms in accordance with Mizuho IT Management.
– TfL – Internal churn of over 1500 staff over 4 weeks including all IT equipment, monitor arms, installation of new desks, electrics, moving grommet holes, re-carpeting, storage and filing.

Michael Cole Business Development Manager
For almost 20 years, Michael held senior management positions in BT’s Head Office as part of BT’s Company Secretary’s Area, Corporate Governance, Compliance and Legal Teams including roles such as Company Secretarial Manager, Corporate Governance Manager, Records Manager, Data Protection Manager and Knowledge Manager.
He has served as a director and company secretary on a large number of BT UK and overseas subsidiary company boards where his role included providing governance and company law advice to other executive and non-executive directors.
Looking for a new and invigorating challenge outside a FTSE100, he joined Universal in 2014, with responsibility for marketing, sales and governance issues.
Michael also acts as a client liaison point and supervisor on removal projects for his own clients, particularly newer ones that he has introduced to Universal.

Adrian Jeffreys Project Manager
Adrian joined Universal as a removals operative / porter and quickly progressed to be a junior and then senior foreman / supervisor due to his diligence and effective work methods. He is now a project manager and senior supervisor and is now the client liaison operative for several major Universal clients.
In his role as a project manager and senior foreman, Adrian’s main focuses are to liaise with the client, management, drivers and porters to ensure that all the requirements of each operation are promptly and effectively completed. An effective delegator and overseer, Adrian has proved himself a valuable team member.
Adrian has a vast experience in the relocation field and acts as client account manager on several of Universal’s major clients, including City University, Hackney Borough Council and The National Archives. He has led on numerous large and significant projects for Universal in both the private and public sectors. Some of the recent major projects he has led on include:
– Library and Archives moves for London Borough of Brent, City University, Historic England and The National Archives
– Numerous complex and multi-site internal moves for City University
